How does DIR recommend attaching

Another way is to loop a tank valve o-ring through a SS clip, take the head off of the SPG, and slide the o-ring and clip to the desired point. Liquid soap helps with the sliding part.

That would be a "No-Go". O-ring connections aren't DIR, not even for the once popular Primary reg bolt-snap. I had to remove mine in a recent Tech 1 class.

What is the method "in grace" now?
I have my primary clip held on by a folded o-ring and works well. But if there is a better way....

Use cave line for everything. A 1" boltsnap will let most people who don't have to wear heavy gloves get their finger through the hole and make it easier to handle.

I think I'll zip tie a shovel to my harness next time I'm out.. and I'll leave my old lady's number with someone so they can give it out on rec.scuba. There's only one way to comfort a widow...

What size bolt snap? 1 1/8 or the 3/4 Stainless steel bolt snap.
