I purchased the Galileo Luna before I was even first certified. After a couple of years of diving with it I love it and would certainly recommend it to others. However the major drawback of this computer is it's strap. It comes with a rubber watch style buckle strap that really does not work well as there is no place to put the extra length of the strap so it just floats around often unbuckling the computer from your arm. Also, as your suit compresses with pressure the computer gets looser around your arm. I have also seen many discussions online about how the default straps tend to fail, just overall bad design.

Anyway, I decided to fashion up my own solution to the problem with just a couple of small bungee tie downs. This solution cost $2, can be worn bare or with dry/wet suits, won't loosen with depth pressure and is simple to don/doff.

One thing I've seen time and again on divers is custom ways to wear their computers, it seems to be one of the most customized pieces of gear. How do you wear yours?

I bought a bungee ready mount from DSS and wear my Zoop on my right arm. I did break through one of the holes though ( gorilla hands) but was happy that the rubber mount has extra holes so I made due.I did buy another mount from Tobin though before I figured that out so now the new mount is stashed away for safe keeping.

Is your setup adjustable according to thickness of thermal protection worn by the diver? Can you adjust the length of strap or is it fixed?

The length of the bungees is fixed however it is adjustable by where you loop the orange "balls". For instance, when I wear naked on the skin I will wrap the excess cord around my arm once then loop the orange balls together. When wearing my 5 mil I will wrap the excess cord about 3/4 of the way around then loop the orange balls around the cord by the loops.

After sliding your arm into the loops you then pull both orange balls to tighten the cord. After that you secure the orange balls wherever it feels comfortable. Very customizable.

If that didn't make any sense here is the cliff notes:

- This setup will work on most (if not all) diving situations
- The length of the bungee is static but adjustable depending on where you "tie off" the excess cord

on my right forearm on the inside, that way when I am ascending and have the inflator assembly in my left hand I can still easily see my dive computer as I ascend

Two separate bungies, in case one breaks, with spring retainers for length adjustment:

Simple and sweet. My original design was very similar to yours however I did not want to solely rely on the strap pins as anchor points. I ended up looping around the battery terminal (much thicker area) and also using the small plastic loop piece that came with the computer.

I'm an inside forearm guy myself.

Right arm, leaving the left free for the rear dump, inflator, or primary light.

The rare times I use it for deep dives it goes on my right wrist along with my dive watch. I'm not left-handed but I like to do things backwards. I comb my hair backwards for a righty too. Well, I am sort of ambidextrous.
