How do you choose a wing?

Maybe it is just an ocean thing, but when it is rough, and you do not want to ditch weight
having a wing that will keep everything including you above the swell zone is life affirming

especially when you're struggling out of breath where diving bigger less streamlined wings
makes absolutely no difference
 
If you can swing it, diving dry may be the appropriate choice here over a 7mm wetsuit. Your point that in heavy seas, his 27 lb wing may not be sufficient is well taken though.

Drysuit is in the future, or I can upgrade to a bigger wing(DiveRite Voyager EXP) with a bit more lift. Granted, I’m still sticking to the limits of my OW certification and haven’t been in heavy seas… yet.
