It does look like the suction cup, didn't think it would stay on while underwater at any depth Has anyone used the gopro hero 2 outdoor adhesive Mount work underwater, I would like to put it on my ikelite housing, we will be diving to a depth up to 100 feet. I know they make a surf verion that must stay on while in the water

Thanks

Steve, the 3M adhesive in the bottom of the mount is somehow soft and compressible. Just like the suction cup, I would guess the pressure would mess a little with the bonding to the surface. If you are to try the adhesive, make sure it you glue it at least 24h before using. It's said to be waterproof.

How about bracing the GoPro onto the housing? If you still have the base plate that came with your camera, you could cut it out so you could run a flat webbing band around it and around the housing. Does it make sense?

My two mounts - both cost me less than 20 bucks total.

I am not sure I can run any banding around the housing, it has several push buttons at the front of the housing where I want to mount the gopro. I do have the base plate, I will have to look into it. Thanks

This is a shot from the gopro mounted on a extendable monopod. Mine is a generic version of the pocket shot which I got on amazon for $7.00. This thing is amazing, and the videos are great. Its great to go both me and the wife in the shot. Above water we get some amazing wide angle shots of us against back drops of the places we travel. Im not exactly sure why ( i suppose it has to do with the way the camera see's underwater) but its not as wide angle. We can still get nice videos of us together.

It also makes getting shots of me solo or her solo, It allows close ups of fish without getting too close to spook them, it allows me to poke the pole under overhags and into wrecks. And, if i put it over my shoulder like I am carrying a cane or something it will show you and whatever is in front of you making some cool shots.. Im working on the video from the last quarry trip, to post some examples.

I velcroed a mount to my left BC strap above the D ring, but I don't like the lack of frame control so I'm going to try a finger mount using the bar clamp, that should be interesting. Here is an example of the BC strap issue.
