I know it was a rock quarry, but how did it fill with 4 different springs?

4 springs? That's nothin... Spring Lake has well over a hundred. Heck, Ethan found a few new ones last week while uncovering some overgrowth! I bet CSSP has a bunch too... they're just hard to track down.
 
Your better source would be a geologist that is familiar with the area. I have heard between 4 and 6 springs in the lake. I have also heard the source is the Ozarks.

That isn't an uncommon fate for quarries. They keep digging until they run out of rock or they can't keep up with the ground water seep.
