quite scary...how does someone of her character actually become certified as a Rescue diver? I will be doing my Rescue course in a few weeks with an instructor who wouldn't hesitate to dismiss a student because of carlessness or inadequate preparedness.

There was a lady on our liveaboard who had a Rescue Diver-AOW C-card and a Nitrox C-card with ONLY SIX DIVES!!!!!!!!

I don't beleive it's possible, since Rescue Diver requires a minimum of 5 dives, and OW requires another 4 dives.

Somebody was obviously wrong.

She was yelled at by the Divemaster because she sucked her air down fast and left her divebuddy behind.

If she was OOA, her buddy should have surfaced with her. Also, the DM shouldn't be yelling at anybody.

My divebuddy and I were cracking up laughing saying," see that!, there is an excellent Rescue Diver". Before the trip ended mostly everyone on the boat was laughing at her and she was the topic of conversation.

Congratulations, you acted like jerks. Maybe some day someone will repay the favor.

Maybe you should put your flippers on and think about it for a while.

I didn't actually do any loggable dives as part of rescue training. Lots of scenarios, but no real dives. But you need five just to get through AOW. A rescue diver after six dives is just way too soon.

i sure wouldnt wanna be recued by her. at the end of the day cert cards dont mean squat. it buys a false sense of security. the best teacher is experience.
