Hey guy, ok i just bought my first set of double LP-108's. I was just wondering how big most of you guys are and how much weight you carry with you doubles. I know alot of people dont use any with doubles. I run about 18 when i am diving single steels.I am 6'2" 300 not Flabby! i would like to add moost people say I look 250 lbs. Anyways how much weight you guys use on the belt?

No weight at all with steel 108's and a drysuit. I'm 6'4" and 230. If I'm in the ocean with dbl aluminum 80's and a 3 mil I wear 6lbs

5'11" 250# no additional weight diving dry with twin HP100s on an aluminium plate. 14# diving dry with a single LP72 on a steel plate.

5'9" - currently 235 lbs. - double 119's with a 9# backplate and 4.5 lbs of additional weight. Drysuit and adequate undergarments to keep warm in 45 degree water ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

6' 2" and 185lbs. No weight with a drysuit and a single steel 119. When I double them up next month I guess than means I'll be over weighted by about 40lbs.

At 6', 175 I don't use any weight with my 7.5 mil neoprene drysuit an ABS backplate and a set of HP 120's or HP 100's. When I dive a siingle steel with the drysuit it's a stainless backplate with STA and 8lbs. on the weight belt. With my 3mm suit and a LP 95 it's no weight.

I doubt your 119 is 40 lbs negatively buoyant its probably around -10 full and -2 empty.

As for me in a drysuit with a 200 gram jumper and a HP Steel 100 and a -5 backplate - I wear 4 lbs so hopefully when I switch to doubles none.

Try starting at your base line of how much you require to get down right now on a single… the amount of lead you require, the buoyancy =or – for the cylinder, SS BP or Alum… etc add it all up then you can base your needs on what the buoyancy of your new rig will be and don’t forget to include the weight of the gas in the doubles and add for the bands and extra regs…

oh and 5'11" 235# double 100's crushed neoprene DS, 400 weight polartec

6# for me

6 foot 350 pounds flappy would be flattering to me :D

I dive double LP95 12 pound plate 11 pound v weight and 8 pound p weight i dive with a 2 pound weight on my left hip and my canister light on the left...

This is in my Drysuit in full underware, i have not dove the summer with the doubles yet so don't know my weighting for then

Good point - I was thinking about how much extra it was going to be on my back walking to the water!
