How are the dema show location and timing selected?

Outrageously expensive labor. You need a union electrician to run a power cord, a union decorator to put your banner on the table, a union teamster to move your gear from the dock to the table, etc.

My (least) favorite trade show experience was in DeToilet. One union person to carry a table, a different one to put a tablecloth on said table, and a third to staple a drape onto the table. This was during the time that FedEx could not drop off packages at the Convention center loading dock because they were a non-union shop.
 
Vegas is fine, fairly cheap and easy to get to. Orlando sucks, nothing to do there if you don't like mouse ears. Takes me an entire day to fly clear across country diagonally.

Funny... those of us from the Northeast say the same thing about Vegas.
 
That's right, DEMA picks venues where someone is bound to be unhappy. Oh, wait, that's just divers.

I'd be happy with New Orleans.

Dive Industry mag just came out with the DEMA survey that said something like 71% of attendees wanted to go somewhere else than Orlando.
