Housing for my Nikon D850, is Ikelite a good choice?

No, I don't think port size had anything to do with the failure. It was probably more of an o-ring issue. The Vivid o-ring is thick enough to seal when installed on a metal housing; I don't think it's thick enough to seal and stay sealed when directly installed in a bulkhead opening on my acrylic Ikelite housing. The Vivid vacuum valve worked for several dives and then it suddenly failed on a shallow (less than ten foot depth) dive. Using to a valve specifically designed to work with Ikelite housings works better.
