Which housing is being used for the Canon S70?
For those who are using the Canon S70, so you like it? .
After posting this, I've been searching on the Internet and found lots of reviews on the S70. I've yet to find a review written by a scuba diver.
On this site here..
Digital Camera Headquarters
there's a section talking about the Underwater Possibilities, using Canon's optional housing.
This is what it says:
"For year-round vacations, Canon's new PowerShot S70 digital camera is compatible with a new optional underwater housing, the WP-DC40. Designed for capturing fabulous underwater photos
while snorkeling, in the pool, or just to protect the camera while boating or on the beach, the housing is available for an estimated street price of $240*. For the underwater enthusiast, Canon will offer a new waterproof case weight set (WW-DC1) that is compatible with all of its underwater housings. Available in packs of four, these weights allow the camera to "stay put" for steady underwater photography. "
What I've highlighted in bold concerns me - it sounds like the housing is just a waterproof case? Yet, in other places it says the underwater housing is good for depths upto 40 metres.
Has anyone used the Canon Underwater Housing with the S70?
Thanks in advance,
I'm editing this because I did some research and found out for sure..
I'd still like some opinions too, if anyone has used the Canon.
Here's what I found on:
Canon Australia website
"Sydney, 10 November 2004 - Canon Australia today announced an expanded range of waterproof and all-weather housings to complement the latest additions to its digital still camera range.
Canon's waterproof housings are engineered to provide the ultimate protection for digital cameras. This means users can be confident that the housings will protect their cameras - from the spray on the boat ride out to the reef, down to as deep as 40 metres."
Thanks again.
