We are just back from Playa Azul. We dove with Dive House (I don't think the dive operator matters) and had to meet the boat at the Caletta. Cab fare for 6 of us was $18, each way (3 bucks each). Never even considered renting a car just to get to the Caletta. We felt our money was better spent putting it directly in somebody's hand. After day one we made arrangements to have the same cab driver pick us up every morning and meet us after the dives. Worked out great.

Thanks for all of the info. With the money we would spend on cab fare (we plan to dive 6 days) and the time we would spend in the cab we are thinking of switching our hotel to Occidental Grand. I emailed DWM to see if he can pick us up there.
