On previous Coz trips, I have stayed at Casa Mexicana and OG. This time, I want a place that is south of town (for trip pickups) but not as far south as OG.

Need to have good beach access (for others in my party).

So ...... rate the hotels south of town by quality of beach and quality of accomodations.

Thanks,

Rich Hagelin

They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so here is a link to a photo of the Fiesta Americana "beach".
FA beach
It isn't a real "beach" in my mind because the sand doesn't slope out into the water, it is held back from the water by a wall. Of course, this leads to better snorkeling than you would find at a sandy beach, and the shore diving is worth the time too.

If I was going to Cozumel with my family again, I'd stay at the FA again, unless I could get a killer price on the Grand.

Most of the oceanside at the Presidente Intercontinental is also ironshore, but they do have a nice section where you can walk down the beach into the water.

It's the best hotel beach south of town that I've seen.

Presidente Beach

Above is a pic of the beach at The Presidente. The whole property is lined by a "beach" but this is the real beach that accesses the water. It's bigger than it looks in the pic.

I've go more pics of the property if you need them, although you did say that you wanted something cheap (in your PM)... which The Presidente is not. Nice shore diving though, it is right off of Paradise Reef.
