Aluminum 80's are 7 inch diameter, or 21" circumference.
I went to local tire dealer & picked through scrap inner tubes until I found one that measured 9 inches across the section (flat) that's 18" in circumference.
Stretches 3 inches over the tanks.
I cut them 2" wide. with a 2" x 3" flap for easy lifting.
I used these for sidemounting.

I used to use these: Commercial Fishing Supplies | Seattle Marine & Fishing Supply Co.

When I was looking for them someone said that the small ones were sized for 40's and the large ones were sized for 80's. I found that there was some size discrepancy but the smaller ones would usually work for 80's. They were cheap enough that if there was an assortment of sizes I didn't really mind tossing some out.
