Hi,
I had purchased some hose protectors, like the ones that come stock on regs - rubber like. HOW in heck do you get them ON the hoses? From which end should they be installed? No matter what end I TRY to install them, they seem TOO small to fit over the fittings.

Whats the TRICK? I even tried sokaing them in hot water first!

??

Hot water does not do the trick, you need boiling water to get the suckers on.

Leave them in boiling water for at least 10 mins, make sure they dint touch the sides or bottom of the pot or they will melt.

Use a thick golve and push damn hard to get them on

Cheers

Thanks Mate!

Have a Foster's on me!

;)

I keep them in boiling water for only one to two minutes, and they pop on quickly with a little tugging at the last bit.

Lucky for us!

They make a tool for putting those things on and it makes life much easier, I think you can buy one from Leisure Pro.

I finally broke down and bought the tool. Used it last weekend and it worked like a charm!

You need a "First Stage Handle" and a "Hose Protector Installation Tool " from Peter Built:

You still need to boil 'em, though.

If they are the "hard" rubber hose protectors, you'll need the boiling water and the tool. If they are the "soft" hose protectors you can get them on with just the tool and some soap or silicone spray.
Good luck!
