Hosaka; Sport fishing in Hawaii -1943
Universally refereed to as "Hosaka" in diving/spearfishing bibliophile circles, it is one of those historical sleeper books that chronicles in a few pages and equal number of drawings the very genesis of recreational spearfishing in Hawaii and California. Published only five years after Gilpatric's Compleat Goggler it has the distinction of being second book published on spearfishing in the English language.
Copies are currently still available at a reasonable price on the used book market. However they are 67 years old therefore good bibliophile copies with intact dust covers and tight bindings are becoming scarce and pricey
(FYI mine was purchased in 1958 at "Acres of books" in Long Beach and is 98% mint)
A must have book for the serious historian spear fisherman to establish continuity of spearfishing history...
