We are sending our son and new daughter in law on a honeymoon to Fiji. They want a place with nice beach, their own bure with air conditioning, and perhaps snorkeling from the beach with some decent fish life/corals, and to do a few days of diving too with good coral/fish life. We are looking in the Yasawas at Viwa Resort, but don't know how the diving will be in that area, no info is written about diving in that area that I can find. Taveuni is another option, but the nice places there are over our budget of $5,000 for a week. Any suggestions?

Check out Matangi Island Resort. It's very romantic. Great staff, crew, diving and food. Very private bure. It has a private beach where they can be the only ones there and even have lunch served.

For great diving and snorkelling I would look at Tavenui and Kadavu.
If they really need air-conditioning and the mod-cons then Tavenui would be a good choice but have a look at Matava Resort which has Honeymoon Bures hidden away with ocean views. They also have great package deals.

I was in Fiji (Savusavu) in October. The resort where I stayed did not have A/C. It was not a problem at all. At a place like Matangi, I bet the fans and the breeze would keep the bure comfortable. I wouldn't write off a nice upscale resort like Matangi -- if you really needed A/C I am sure they would have it.

Beqa Lagoon Resort! They do a boat ride to your own beach with lunch and all you need and it is a very nice Bure with air! Or the Honeymoon Bure at Wananavu!
