Hi everyone, I am getting married in Nov 2010 and we are planning a 2 week honeymoon (2/3rd week of November). I know we have not picked the best time of year from the perspective of it being the rainy season in a lot of places but am hoping we can come up with something. We are trying to go to places neither of us have been to before. My fiance is not an extremely experienced diver (just dove again in Cozumel in July after 15 years) so we are looking for somewhere that has good diving that is not too advanced. We were considering 1 week Curacao and 1 week Bonaire but am concerned about the recent issues with burglaries in Bonaire.

I have been to Bali, Aruba, St. Maarten, Saba, St. Croix, St. Thomas, Fla Keys, Cozumel and my fiance has dove in Japan and Cozumel. He has also been to Hawaii.

We are open to spending 2 weeks in 1 locale or traveling to 2 or more locations that are close to one another (probably a max of 2 though since we don't want to spend the entire time traveling). I'm not particularly into all-inclusive resorts and hope to go somewhere that has some decent restaurants and a little bit of night life (nothing too crazy though).

Thank you for any information you can provide. I really want first-hand knowledge of places that would be good for November. Thank you!!

I would go to Fiji, Beqa Lagoon Resort or Wananavu Resort. Both are all-inclusives, but they have an exotic, cultural aspect that I think would be both romantic and fun. I have friends who have been to both and they rave about them, great diving and very romantic, love the local dancers and activities.

Another place I would consider is Lembeh in Indonesia - a week on the east side doing muck diving and a week on the west side doing the reefs. Several good resorts there to choose from and all the Travel Specialists like Caradonna and Island Dreams can arrange everything for you. check out Kungkungan Bay Resort, Kimo Bajo Resort , Tasik Ria, and Lembeh Resort.

If I was going on a honeymoon, I would want to go to one of those. :D

How about Bali - not rainy season yet and you get the chance to see the Mola Mola!!

I went with Geko dive and they put together a great package for me - including accomodation and transfers (check out www.gekodive.com) great island for a honeymoon!!

She said they want to go somewhere neither of them has been, as she has been to Bali already. :shakehead:

Maldives should fit most of your requirements. Yes most islands are all inclusive but it would be a very romantic destination.
How about the Seychelles, maybe not as famous as the Maldives for diving but still worth looking at.
If you fancy a wild card how about 1 week on Mafia Island (yes that is the name) and 1 week on Safari in Tanzania. I have never been but it looks very interesting. :cool2:

Have a great time where ever you decide to go.

Island hop French Polynesia. Good for diving/honeymoon, with the exception of the nightlife.

How about South Africa? Great diving and you get to mix up your diving with a few days on safari. It is rainy season in South Africa in November but if it rains it only rains during the afternoon and usually not for long. Check out Immerse Yourself Safaris at Immerse Yourself Safaris - About Us or let me know if you'd like to know more!

French Polynesia: Easy 8 hour flight from LA. Spend 5-6 days each on Bora Bora and on Moorea in an overwater bungalow at one of several resorts on each of these islands. Or, sail the best small cruise ship in the world, the Paul Gauguin, which has its own PADI dive op on board. We have done all of this. PM me if you want more info. Congrats and good luck!
