here is a picture that i can't quite decide on... the focus is
really problematic other than at the center shell, and yet...

somehow i like it because it conveys that feeling of speed,
movement, whatever...

so, honestly, tell me what you think:

keeper or not?

Andy,

Don't worry what anyone else thinks. It's yours and all you have to do is either like it - or trash it.

Me? I'd trash it.

I like it....the feeling of speed, combined with it being a turtle, kind of presents an image of contradiction in motion. Keep it.

You certainly get the feeling of speed! Technically it's not good at all but there's just something about it that I like. Actually it's the exact view I get of all our turtles.... busting butt away at high speed!

If you're asking what to do to make it better. A faster shutter speed and open up your aperture to deepen the depth of field would help alot.

Looks like a fast turtle! Where's the hare?

Just call it Turbo-Turtle! Seriously, the focus isn't good but maybe it's a starter for one of Dee's makeovers!

Well I'm far from an expert, but it kinda looks to me like you and the turtle were moving along together at the same speed relative to the ground. Like a cool sports shot. I'd keep it.

I played with it a bit, tried to get the turtle a bit more in focus.
It definatly has something

thank you everyone for taking the time to comment...

i think after some thought, i'll call it a "non-keeper" if for no
other reason than the result was unintended... it just sort of
happened, and it's "kind" of neat, but not "neat neat."

here's a black and white version, i like it a wee bit better:
