Hello,

I once read but cant find the article someone that said it was possible to HOME MADE a diffuser for torches or strobe flash lights

Is there a flexxible plastic material, or film like material or clothing like material that can be used as diffuser? I remember reading it could be put infront of the light source and stick it using a rubber band

anyone of you know of this?

thanks

Mario

Ciao Mario,
i write you in english so that all can understand it.
I had for some time a white, rather thick plastic (from a shopping bag) over my D-2000 Strobe as diffuser. It worked, but was not very handy to caary and it was looking horrible. So i made one out of a sheet of white plexiglass/Lexan and it is crewd on with the original screws for the INON diffuser.
Anyway, you can use several things:
for use outside the torch/strobe (with water contact)
white or translucent plastic bags
white or translucent plastics (tupperware like things),
choosing the right size the may fit perfectly around the torch/strobe
etched or sand blasted glass disks
Plexiglass/Lexan/Policarbonate in various thickness and colours/textures

for use inside the torch/strobe
With more "technical" skills you can use for example Lee's Gel Filters used to color flood lights in concerts and video/television studios. Lee Filters - Welcome
This also may help to correct the blueish colour of LED torches

Have fun with testing and inventing!
If you need more assistance come over to Sardinia and we work on that together... :-)

A small white baby sock works fine. Use rubber band to hold in place.
