Looking at purchasing a BP/W setup. I really like the Hollis S38 LX wing and want to use it with an Elite 2 Harness.
I dive with a 7mm wet suit in cold water, weigh just short of 200lbs, will be purchasing a stainless steel backplate, and will also purchase the STA. Will the S38 LX wing have enough lift diving with OMS/Faber steel 112 single tanks? I read somewhere that the S38 only has enough lift for a 15L tank. The steel 112's are 17L. So I'm not sure what I should buy - the S38LX or the C45LX, but I also don't to have a big wing like the C45 wrapping around the tank. I will not be diving doubles at all.

Thanks for the help.

try the spreadsheet at the bottom. if your tank is a lp steel oms 108 (112), that only gets to -8 when full. you would have to lose 30 pounds of buoyancy at depth to be negatively buoyant with a full tank. it is unlikely that you would lose that much buoyancy from just a 7mm wetsuit. i run a wtx3 (34? lbs of lift) usually with a pst hp100 with 20 pounds of weight not including plate and it works pretty well.

I'm guessing the Faber is around 9lbs negative when full ((?) a steal plate is around 5lbs assuming you're not diving a special super heavy plate. STA, SS and bands and regs around 8lbs. so you're currently looking at needing a minimum of around 22lbs to float just your rig. How much lead do you use? I Highly doubt you'd need a 45lb wing. Hopefully some of the experts will be along shortly to give a more definitive answer. Good luck.
