Hello diver interweb friends. I just started my open water cert course. the course set me about $600 back once I had purchased all materials which include (fins, mask, snorkel, boots, weight belt) - a couple dive books, the online learning package, and included rental of the bcd's for pool instruction.

It's a bit of an investment and I hope I made the right choice...here's the breakdown...

Aqua Lung ADJ express fins - $108

5mm hi top neosport boots- $39

cordura zippered weight belt- $25

dive book- $14

standard online OW kit- $110

class and pool- $180

atomic frameless mask- $99

aeris tawali snorkel- $22

Now the problem I am having is that it is 3/27, and they don't go do their open water dives till the middle of may...and i'm not trying to sit around for a month waiting for the water to warm up for them. I need an instructor or shop that I can be referred to from my instructor that can take me/meet me somewhere local and do these check out dives. VA, DC, MD area

Contact Dive Quarters in Virginia Beach. They can probably hook you up. They do certifications at Lake Rawlings.
