I do not even sell a braided long hose. They are too floaty, catch the little hairs on the back of my neck, and feel like fine sandpaper on wet skin. Braided hoses also tend to take a set or kink when coiled up too tight. I have regs hanging and LOOSELY coiled in large bins. I don't even use reg bags anymore unless it's transporting a recreational set up for a demo to a customer or at a show.

And yeah, you should not store it with the DIN adapter in place. Take it off and keep it with the reg. I have seen one adapter welded to the DIN fitting with salt and corrosion. Expensive mistake.

I run all of my single tank set ups that way. Nice and clean. And plenty of slack in an air share. Every reg I set up for single tank OW customers goes out that way unless they request something different. No complaints in three years and dozens of set ups sold. Each person is different. Decide what works best for you and dive that. Having the back up come off the bottom on a single tank set up for use in OW is not necessary and adds no real advantage that I can see. In a cave or wreck it may make more sense with doubles but to me in OW the long hose off the bottom is clean and works well.

In the bag with a deco reg, the left post is on the left side of the bag and right post is on the right side of bag:

As they are setup on my tanks, long hose out a side port:

And yeah, take the yoke converter off during storage.

I like braided hoses but some people have had them kink when deploying the long hose.
