Hello - I recently just purchased my first regulator and it's a HOG D1 single tank set (long flex hoses). My question is how do you maintain/care for them? Unfortunately I can't soak them presurrized.

If you can't soak any regs when pressurized simply put the dust cap onto the first stage and dunk in the water whilst keeping the seconds out and then keep the first above the water level whilst soaking the seconds. When you take the seconds out of the water hold the first stage above their level whilst allowing them to dry out.

Depending on the type of dust cap you can put the whole reg in a half foot of water without fear of water entering the 1st stage. There is not enough water pressure to force its way in. Some dustcaps do not seal very well, so confirm that it is seating properly before rinsing.

Don't push the purge button whilst rinsing. Rinse for as long as you can. Warm water breaks down salts faster than cold.

Put the reg under running water if possible after the rinse.

Shake the water out of the 2nd stages.

Dry out of direct sunlight.

Before storage, make the rinse as long as possible (overnight is good) and finally consider wiping it off with bottled water if your water is a little 'hard'. Store it dry, away from chemicals.

What others have said. I do a 2 hour soak under pressure, then dry the set with a towel.
Take inside to a warm dry place and remove the cover, ring, rubber diaphragm and let it dry out for 2-3 days.
I also back off the cracking pressure knob all the way.
After that pack it away in it's case.
