My first thought is that someone got into scuba, pulled out the credit card and said "sell me the best" and then realised they don't like scuba so much.

My second thought is that I could walk into a retail shop, say I want $7000 worth of gear but am only willing to spend $5000, and still get it.

You got it, $1100 for a BCD you can get a nice wing and BP for $500 the guy pay way too much for that gear. Hopefully he can get some of his money back.

Aaahk I think I had a heart attack when I saw these prices! Bet I could find it all for less than $500.
