Am wondering if anyone could answer my question. A couple of weeks back i went diving in Redang Island, Malaysia. After coming up from my 7th dive (morning) when i took off my wet suit. I had red dots on my back. When i got to shore, i noticed there were more red dots all over my body. And my God, they itched like hell. Anyway, the red dots progressively increased from little dots to red patches by noon. Then by evening, it became patches or hmm lets see...err..lets say my body had the world map on it. It was horrible and i itched so badly that it was painful. Anyway, in the evening i went to see a doctor and she gave me a jab saying that it was hives. The next day, the itch and the rashes continued to swell, so i went to the hospital to see a specialist for yet another jab.

Anyway, after the ordeal. Am just wondering, is this hive condition diving related or is it just my skin's reaction to something.

Also, my 6th dive was a night dive and the week before i went diving i had flu...

Would really appreciate it, if anyone could advise on this matter!

Cheers...

My, sounds most uncomfortable.

Based soley on what you have reported, one might want to rule out Sea Bather's Eruption (SBE). It is that time in Malaysia. You may read a little about it in the following articles---->
