Is there an “About” page on Scubaboard somewhere, or a “History” page?

How did Scubaboard start? When? By whom? Highlights, lowlights over the years?

Readership/membership stats over the years? How has it changed or not?

Just curious. @The Chairman and others who were there, can you please enlighten me?

Here's a start.

Thanks. What do the “counts” represent?

I can’t say I understand what that chart means except that it started in 2000, peaked in 2004/2005, and 2017 was a low year.

Gray line is new content generated and added to "thewaybackmachine" archive, annually.

An important note, this data isn't conclusive.

In 2017 it suggests 500 new URLs generated.... The change to xenforo apparently changed how the site is viewed and archived by the robots. I'm pretty sure I have 500 posts in the past year alone just by my lonesome self.

I know it was started by King Neptune and Lady Diver. There are a few early posts by King Neptune, but I don't think I found any by Lady Diver. Others will know more.

It's all binary....

So you see, when a 1 and a 0 really love each other....

Here's a start.
Yikes, I didn't realize that last year was such a low point for scubaboard. The site must have lost a lot of traffic after the xenforo switch or something.

Something to do with Parrots...
And, I believe, wanting to see a tank explode.

Look at the number of divers entering diving, and you'll understand why the dive shops are having hard time staying..... Afloat.

A lot of folks have migrated to various social media,Pete and crew have done a good job keeping SB relevant but society has morphed.
Also what Wookie said, internet only shops and declining entries into diving .Hopefully as the economy continues to expand, there will be more divers with disposable income.
