Anyone interested in a day of hiking in NH, CT, or MA?

I just came in from a great jog outside and thought that you guys might be interested in getting together for a hike. The scuba season is over for me right now and it's a great time of the year to hike through mountains.

Beautiful, sunny day, red and orange trees, fresh air, great mountain views, hot coffee across a fireplace afterwards...

I bet a bunch of you know great places to hike. Suggestions?

I was thinking of this weekend or the next to catch the foliage....

Tuckermans in April... :)

I think Trish is looking for something will less possibility of bodily harm. :whack:

What about Mt. Monadnock? Not too long of a hike (2h -3h one way), great view.

anywhere, anytime (as long as it is on a weekend) I will go. I have been trying to do Sleeping Giant from head to toe out here in Hamden, CT (near Quinnipiac College). It is really beautiful there and at the base is Aunt Chilladas, a great place for an after hike margharita! Also near Mt. Tom is some cool spots in Mass.

I would love to do this some day but I don't think I want to ski down... More of a summertime thing for me. Joe and I will be doing Mt. Washington next year for sure.

Monadnock is a great hike both as far as difficulty and location. I would be interested as well. I am thinking of diving this wknd with others in wet suit on sunday, but sat would be ok. or another date in the future.

Baxter is a bit of a ride, but we would be guarenteed to only be there with the die hards. There might even be snow by the time we put this together.

Bar Harbnor is another option as well. I have camped there and done a bunch of hikes that as well.

I think both of these are 3-4 hrs drive. Maybe we should just camp for the wknd. any takers......

Pawtuckaway state park in Raymond, NH has some pretty good hiking [not mountains...but hiking all the same]. It also has some really good bouldering and some traditional rock climbing as well...
