I was wondering if it's worth buying a strobe that supports HSS? I've used HSS in topside photography and it's great. I have questions about how well it would work underwater. I welcome your experiences!

Don’t have but wanted it. Been shooting fast/wide stills with my video lights (15k krakens) in the shallows as an alternative to upgrading my strobes. I like the shallow DOF look but for UW I use it as an infrequent creative effect.

You loose a lot of power with HSS. Unless of course you have the new Sony.

One must turn on wireless flash in the Sony A7rv camera settings in order to use HSS with a Backscatter MF-2 and a Turtle trigger.

Sample:
ISO 200, 1/500, f/6.3
