I'm in sidemount, and the cable was wrapping behind my back under my wing. I noticed occasional transmitter drop outs, and they kept happening at one of my favorite training holes at around 100-120ft. Got spooked not being able to access the transmitters and having to rely on the backup button gages.

I wrapped the cable with the braided cover, and also went ahead and replaced the transmitter batteries even though there was no warning that they were getting low.

I'm not sure if the batteries were the fix, or the cord wrap. But so far I've never had that issue since. Even if the cord wrap isn't helping with the transmitter connection issue, it at least adds a pop of color, helps to differentiate the cord by texture and color, and also provides a layer of friction protection. Figured it wouldn't hurt to just toss it on, so far so good!
During my testing I did wrap mine with plastic sheeth covered with aluminum tape and that alleviated any dropouts at all, but it happened never during my normal diving so I never planned to keep it.

I dive doubles vs your SM, so I'm sure that makes a bit of difference. Also I'm not sure if the 2.0 was upgraded to have less interference.

I've always dive under the thought that I should have a pretty good idea what my gas is and the spg / transmitter is just a sanity check. I'm getting better, but wouldn't want to be without either.

Any pictures of your wrap job? I like the idea of some flash even if just for aesthetics!

I could take a better photo of just the light, but this was taken last weekend while I was helping teach a class. You can see the orange cable there. :)

Well this sucks. Looks like I'm seeing anywhere from 13%-20% price increase on all Orcatorch lights. What really stinks is I didn't even get a heads up... would have loved to get a few orders in. I do not see the price increase reflected on Amazon yet, but I'm sure it's coming.
Was you somehow expecting Donnie to exempt diving lights from his tariffs? I mean he has even specifically put tariffs on two tiny islands in the Antarctic that are only inhabited by penguins - and they are rightly pissed about it too!

And if you think I am joking - well sadly I'm not - Trump really did impose a 10% tariff on two tiny uninhabited islands that are 2000 miles from the nearest inhabited land -

The last human inhabitants were seal hunters that left 140 years ago in 1885 - since then about the only things that have been made on the Heard and McDonald Islands is snow - and penguin poop - neither of which would seem to pose much of a threat to the U.S. economy from more than 10,000 miles away. You couldn't make this **** up if you tried - unless you lived in the White House.

I am not educated enough to know, or wealthy enough to be involved. Maybe there's good money in penguin poop🤣.

All jokes aside I'm assuming the price hike was due to tariffs. Could also be a scheduled hike, I'm not sure. I don't sell enough lights for them to let me in the inner circle, lol.

The penguins are threatening to hold a protest march at the White House and poop all over his lawn:D

I'm pretty sure that the rise would be due to tariffs - there is no escaping them - DT keeps saying that the exporter will pay the tariff and the tariffs won't be passed on to the consumer - but hundreds of economists have all been saying that it is the importer who pays the tariffs and that the costs will be passed on through the supply chain from there until ultimately the consumer pays.

I don't know man, I kind of come here and get underwater to get away from all that mess.

I love this country, I hope we can turn it around at some point. I think we need something different. I don't know if this is it or not.
