High blood pressure

Hi,
I was wondering how increased blood pressure effects diving.
Specificaly, if I had high blood pressure but now it has been lowered tonormal/slightly elevated using medicine, can I participate in recreational diving. By that I mean to a max depth of 80 ft. Also, I'm 50 years old.

As far as decompression goes, I do not believe that there is an influence of blood pressure.

Blood pressure is a medical question, however, and it affects many aspects of health in general.

Here's what DAN says about hypertension and diving.

The key sentence:

"Divers who have demonstrated adequate control of blood pressure with no significant decrease in performance in the water due to the side effects of drugs, should be able to dive safely. "
