Uncle Pug:
I can't tell a difference between my 21w and an 18w. Hope that helps ease your angst. :D
Well in that case.... do you want to send me the one you don't use? :eyebrow:

Greatly!

Uncle Pug:
I mean a little 10w with the genuine EKPP blows the Halcyon 18w away!
So the EKPP reflector fits the old style 10W Halcyon test tube lighthead? Is it worth spending the money on just an EKPP reflector for a 10W lighthead, or splurging for an 18W lighthead?

Reminds me, I need to make up some shims to put around the lighthead base to get the focus to be at it's "sweet spot" when the reflector is fully butted up against the ballast. At the moment I have to back it off a mm or two to get the best focus.

Edit:
Ooops... I forgot to add... but the difference between a genuine EKPP reflector and the Halcyon pseudo EKPP knock-off is phenominal... you just have to see it to believe it. I mean a little 10w with the genuine EKPP blows the Halcyon 18w away! And with that on a 21w... why I need to be careful not to start underwater brush fires!

Does anyone make those reflectors as an add on to the Halcyon lights?

Ben... seriously... I'm just running my stick along the cell bars of the all those poor souls imprisoned by the need to have *the* latest~n~greatest / brightest~n~best.

My EKPP cost $107 including shipping from Europe. I wouldn't have bothered if it weren't for the fact I needed to buy a reflector since Howard doesn't include them with his lights. Oh... and I had to buy a goodman handle for it as well.

Fortunately for me Scott K. is a personal friend and I scored the very last one of his beautifully crafted SS ones. I don't know how folks get by with anything less. The corrosion problems with the SS screws and aluminum handles on most goodman handles is more than a cosmetic embarassment... it is a potential failure point that cannot be ignored.
:D

Jag... the *real* EKPP only comes from one source and yes it fits the Halcyon. But really... the fake ones are just fine... even if they do have a number 3 stamped right in the reflector that screws up the light pattern and puts a dark blob where there should be light.

Whatever!

That's pretty intersting comming from a Guy who actually HAS the latest, greatest, brightest and bestest light!!!!! :)
