I'm a newbie here and was referred by Headhunter. Headhunter, if you're the same guy and you remember me, I'm Rob from the Halloween party at Hollywood Divers. Finally took your advice and made it to this board. Hope everything's going well with you. Stay and touch and keep me in mind if, especially if you ever want to do some local beach diving. That goes for all of you. I'm still relatively new to diving, so the more people I meet, the more often I can dive. Take care.

Rob

WELCOME to ScubaBoard!!!
You should be able to meet more dive buddies
than you'll have time to dive with here.
We also have information, discussions, ideas,
opinions, everything needed to keep surface
intervals lively. Jump right in and start using
the board all that you can.
I Hope to read some of your contributions soon.

I need inspiration to revise my stock message. Maybe if I read over may last couple hundred welcoming messages. Hmm. Maybe.
This is a great place to meet people, talk about diving, and get information on just about any aspect of diving -or other subjects sometimes- that you can think of. Roaming through the forums is great help for me.
Now get wet with us and dive into the forums to ask questions, answer those that you can and even chat with folks about diving dreams and nightmares. ScubaBoard is a great place to spend your required Surface Intervals.
When you post a question, be as sure as you can that it's in the right forum or you'll probably find it moved.
The folks here are passionate about their diving, some about their specialty, so the reading can get very interesting, sometimes very hot.
Don't forget, if you haven't already done it, to fill out you profile as completely as reasonable, it'll save you being asked and having to repeat the information often.
Enjoy!

Tom

No experience needed and it feels great!

Hi Rob!

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Of course, I remember you! You were wearing the Ric Ocasek hair, right? That was the weekend that a bunch of ScubaBoard members were getting together in La Jolla.

Your timing is great! About 30 - 40 of us are getting together in Laguna (much closer than La Jolla) this Sunday at Heisler Park. It's diving all day and night with a BBQ for lunch and a gathering at a pizza parlour for dinner and an after dive party. It's a fantastic and friendly group of people and it would be great to see you come out and join us!

You can find more info about this Sunday's dive event in the SoCal section of our California Kelp Divers forum.

The title of the thread with more info is Wrinkles November Dive 11-21. You can add your name to the list on our public calendar so that they can plan on you when getting the food.

Click on any of the links I've provided above to go straight to those sections. You can just use your "Back" button on your browser to get back to this page and then click on the next link.

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically from your profile, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or respond to in this forum.

High Rob,

Welcome to the board. Don't forget to come down and visit the California Kelp Divers So CAl section at the bottom of the Culbs forums after the travel section. Great bunch.

As for diving, I rarely dive :eyebrow: , but if you are in the mood and want a partner for a dive or two, give me a call or PM (private message). I would be happy to see if we could put together a dive somewhere in Malibu, Redondo Beach, Palo Verde, or Laguna Beach (ocasionaly San Diego or Monterey). See you Sunday in Laguna Beadh at the dive.

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll simply click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. My favorite is at the bottom: Singles Dive Club. Glad that Headhunter brought you over!

It would help in future diving discussions if you'd complete your Profile with location. You can use the Quick Links above to reach those easily. Sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help?

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:
