I have a faber low pressure 95 tank. I bought it off CL and my buddy says the might not pass hydro because it might be on band list? Ive goggled and couldnt find a thing. Guy on CL: seemed really nice when he sold em, Said he bought them back in 2002. About 30 dives and stored with air and he said they will need a hydro. Been sitting a few years last vis was july 2006. He stoped using them around 2007
first tank line reads
Faber made in Italy M8303 01/069/ 098 01 A01+ SCC/95
second line
TC-3AAM-184/DOT-#AA 2400 REE78
Does anyone have any info that would be helpful to me? Thank you for your time.

A Faber LP 95 is a HP130 in some parts of the world.
It is an excellent tank.
Get it Hydo'd and you are off to the races.

Chug
Has two Fabers in the garage.

Its taking a bit to figure what the stamping is, Ill try.... tc3aam-184 transportation of cancda 3aa-m steel tank metric pressures dot-3aa departmant of transportation steel tank 2400 psi working presure ree78 hydro proceedure related.

made in italy m8303 is a faber tank (01/069 dont know) 098 serial number 01a01 hydro stamp from birth from faber + is 10% above 184 bar/ 2400psi working pressure.

scc/95 dont know.

The lp95 is a great tank, can be top heavy especially is used in doubles for some. There is nothing about the tank that should prohibit the tank from being serviced in the USA.The tank should be good for the next 50 years is cared for.

M8303 01/069/ 098 01 A01+ SCC/95

TC-3AAM-184/DOT-#AA 2400 REE78

M8303 == manufacturer number for Faber

01/069/ 098 == 01 year made / 069 batch / 098 unit

01 A 01 + == first hydro test year and month w/plus ratin so 10% overfill permitted

SCC/95 == 95 cuft fill

TC-3AAM-184 == Transport Canada / 3AAM-184 designation for steel / working pressure 184 bar

DOT-3AA 2400 == Dept. of Transportation / 3AA - designation for steel / working pressure 2400 psi

REE78 - rejection elastic expansion value (needed for the plus rating calculation)

As for yer buddy, he is probably thinking about the old AL6351 cylinders. Take the cylinder to the hydro shop and have it requalified - make sure you note that it can be plus rated.

Hi, As a Hydrotester I can tell you that unless the cylinders have excessive internal or external corrosion or are damaged there is no reason there should be a problem having it Hydro'd and passing visual as well. Faber is my cylinder of choice. They are one of the only cylinders that rarely rust just from doing a hydro. Asahi are possibly the worst to quickly rust while doing a hydro followed closely by Worthington's.

<----has a rather large stash of Faber LP95's in the garage with multiple hydro stamps on them. Get it current and dive it for all it's worth. They are amazing cylinders!

What they all said. I'm also guessing your buddy is not a diver.

Or he wants you to think the tank is crap and sell it to him. Either way he should go away.

I recently found two Faber 112s and two PST 104s that hadn't ever been used from 2002. They all passed hydro +10% and I couldn't be happier diving steels now! I imagine you'll be just fine!

Ok so a lady has this tank for sale near me. It is a LP Faber 95. Is it manufactured in 06? or 08?
