I have a Canon G9 and now I'm wondering if I should buy the Ikelite underwater housing or the Canon underwater housing for it. There is such a big price difference and I'm wondering why.

Well Ikelite has always been known to be very good. The Cannon will be so too. Most likely the Ikelite has a deeper waterproff rating that the Cannon. I'm taking it that the Cannon isn't as much money.

The Cannon is going to take Cannon componets, were as Ikelite will accept not only theirs but others as well. Ikelite will have alot more options to choose from normally.

By the way

Howdy and Welcome to SB.com!

With the Ikelight, when you change cameras, you can replace half of the housing only - or so I've heard.

Click Forums at the top to start checking all the choices, and try our :search: feature. Hope you enjoy your time here. Click my Username to PM me if I can help...??

ikelite lets you use all features that you paid for that the camera can perform...other housing do not..can access the hot shoe for ttl exposures with ikelite..deeper rating..much stronger housing..
