Hi,
My name is Burleigh and I've been dry for 8 years.

When last in the water, I was starting my Dive Master's Cert at Emerald Sea Divers in Richardson, but had to stay out of the water for a while since I had to have an eye operation. Meet my current wife and didn't get a chance to get back in the water until recently.

A buddy of mine is wanting to dive again, so I promised him I'd go in the summer time. I went to ScubaToys with him last night for a Nitrox class and can honestly say I have the itch again. I just had lasik last month so I have no need for glasses anymore (yeah!) and just have to wait until I get approval from my Doctor next month and then Im ready to jump in! Anybody else had lasik and dives? I doubt there should be any issues, but want to ask, just in case.

Favorate Dive: Heron Island near Cairns, Australia. One word to discribe it - Paradise. I swam next to turtles, moray eels, sharks, and even a sea snake. At night time, I would watch the turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. An experience I'll never forget. After diving here and Cozumel, it was really difficult to go back to the murky waters of Texas lakes.

I'm going to wait and see how this all goes. If I do get back into this, hopefully, I can find a way to entice my wife. If not, I'll just have to dive with Mike for the next 10 or so years until my kid is big enough to get into it. Maybe I'll start my DM cert again. Just a wait and see at the moment.

Any decent places to dive near the DFW area? The only place I remember that was of any tolerable quality was Lake Travis or Lake Quachita.

Welcome to the board and rememeber... recovery is for quiters, when it comes to scuba at least, so be a scubaholic.

Wow, it worked just like on TV. I start by giving you small doses of scuba for free until your hooked and then take you to scuba toys to see all the wonderful toys. :)

My master plan is now complete, ... now to figure out a way to prevent your wife from killing me when she does the bills? :)
