If you live near Miami, I highly recommend getting your cert from South Beach Divers! Unless you're really worried about diving (then take a longer 5 day course), it's great to get the certification done in 3 days. I just got my Open Water cert on Sunday. I was pretty nervous but it was an amazing experience!

Stephanie... I think you'll find that underwater photography really enhances the diving experience. I've been doing video since 2001 and took my first underwater still in 1969. Recently I was pleasantly surprised when my newly certified son bought a digital camera and housing... it made my heart proud to watch him search out and film marine critters on our first dives together last weekend.
