Pink? Red? Green? I knew it sounded familiar, but it took a while to register. Too cute!:)
 
at Anacapa and Santa Cruz. Now I freedive for reds on the North Coast. Much more sportin'! Good for your scuba skills as well, although it perpetuates my reluctance to ditch the snorkel! Too bad about the Southern California abalone populations. When I was a kid there was a huge mound of shells at a processing plant in Goleta. Commercial divers used to come in with their Radons filled to the gunwales with reds and whites. White abalone are now nearly extinct, and the withering syndrome has really harmed the other species. I haven't dove SoCal for a while, are the abalone making a comeback now that the fisheries are shutdown?
