Howdy. I've been subscribed to this board for about two weeks, and must say that I have learned more from the real divers on the board than I have ever learned from a magazine review or equipment salesman. Hearing firsthand accounts of what works/doesn't work for people, as well as their perspectives on safety, gear configurations, etc. really comes in handy when selecting gear that works for me.

I live in Placer County and primarily dive in Monterey, as well as Santa Barbara County beach dives. I've also been to Cozumel 4X, Florida, Baja, and Maui. I still haven't figured out the DIR way to rig for warm water, unless I glue pockets to my swim trunks :mean: ...

I received my NAUI Sport Diver certification in 1978 from a crusty old instructor who must have been diving for at least 20 yrs. by that time. Reply to buddy who signals out of air? Raised middle finger. He was barely joking.:reaper:

I received my NAUI AOW in 1998, and was working on Advanced Rescue in 2000 when I took a two year hiatus. Glad to be back in the water, and good to be here!

and a WARM and Friendly Welcome from SUNNY ARIZONA, the all beach no ocean state.

Glad to have you here :balloon:

Now just how did you stay dry for so long? I get the heebee-jeebees if I'm out of water even for a few months.

Welcome to the neighbourhood.

Hey DivingGal - the recipe for staying dry for so long is:

Start own business,
Have 3 kids in 5 yrs,
Buy new house,
Replace equipment fund with diaper fund;-0
And...generally misplace priorities!

Now that that's all straightened out, I'd love to hook up with other divers on the board. I'm putting in a lot of pool time and helping with classes at the Breakwater in Monterey to make sure that my skills get tuned up.

Bob3 - I know a guy that even managed to cover his gas cost with a full day of dredging on the Yuba! :D

Glad to have you aboard. Now that you are officially introduced jump in a participate. I hope you have as much fun as we all do.

I know a couple folks in Reno, I'll pass along your info.

Yah, price of gold dropped pretty bad there, used to be you could buy gas AND a burger after a day's dredging.

Selling the flakes on ebay gets about double the going rate.
:mean:
Gotta slurp up those mudbugs, too. They're good for $5/lb.

Welcome to the board! Glad to see you get back to it. :snorkel:
