Hi Everyone
My name is Joy and we just started a new company called Smart Gear. I am excited to be part of Scuba Board. I am a long time sailor and ocean fanatic from Florida.

I am just learning about scuba diving and will be getting my first certifications over the coming holidays. I have come a long way from growing up in Texas, South Carolina and the midwest. I have adventured all over the world from Galapagos to China through most of Europe and a good part of Downunder; however, I was mostly on top of the water, falling down a mountain or climbing a waterfall or just floating a bit under the surface with my snorkel. I can't wait to start diving. Meeting so many wonderful new people and seeing so many cool products and travel destinations at DEMA really drove it home--diving is where it is at!!! I can't wait!
It was a great show for us and we were thrilled to find so many new friends. I learned a ton and look forward to continuing to learn even more!!

Also, we have have founded a new organization, Scuba Diving Association, to help local dive shops, dive instructors and divers connect for free all over the world. So please check out that page on our website as well. It is not interactive yet but you can start sending me your dive shop info, photos and links and we will launch it soon.

No matter where I have been in the world it has always been so wonderful to be an American and to come home to the awesome United States of America. It is so comforting to know you are there and have been making my life safe and easy. Thanks for all you do and have done!!
