Hello there

This is my first post and first day at Scubaboard.
Just wanted to say hello and that from reading some
of the posts in the forums I can see there is a lot of
useful information going around.

The more information I find and read, the more I am coming
to love this sport. I have only been diving for about 3 months,
but I am making the most of it.

Only done diving in South Africa so far, where I live, only up to
Sodwana though. Going to Aliwal Shoal in June to complete my
2* course through CMAS.

Doing the Sardine run in July and planning a trip to Mozambique in August.

Hopefully back to Sodwana round about October.

Hope to hear from all of you soon!

No experience needed and it feels great!

Welcome aboard Jacques. Sounds like you have some exciting and interesting dive trips planned. It always interesting to hear about the dive sites and opportunities for people who live far from my little corner of the world.

Hi Jacques!
I've been to North Africa, but not South Africa yet. I'd love to hear more.
Welcome to ScubaBoard!

Hello there

Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome welcome.

I will be posting threads as I return from various dive trips.

I went to one of our inland dive spots on Saturday with Mr. Nuno Gomez.
He's busy prepping for the Red sea trip at the end of this month.
Awesome to see him under the water with all those huge quads on his back.

We sort of tagged along as it was our first deep dive seeing we have just started
our 2* course.

We have a couple of inland dive spots where we go to hone our skills and just to get into the water when there aren't any trips on the go. We are quite far from the ocean so we have to specifically organise trips to go ocean diving.

We are trying to establish a bit of a culture at our club where we want to go on some serious dive trips at least 4 - 5 times a year. Next year's line up will definitely include a trip to the Red sea. Have heard some awesome stories.

As yet, I have yet to see my first shark up close and personal, but looking forward to it as soon as summer returns on our shores.

See you on some of the other forums...
