i just relocated here from los angeles. i last got my advanced openwater cert at catalina island in california a few years ago but havent done much diving since, since it was so cold. i recently relocated to homestead and work in miami. very excitied about seeing coral instead of kelp. im a real coral nut. also looking for someone who could do a reasonably priced refresher course, im told they cost around 100 bux. i need dive buddies, where are you?? also id love to find someone who could tell me the good places to go, etc. all ive done so far is snorkeled grecian rocks. i need to get back into the grind! cant wait to get back out there.

did you move to the right place!

welcome aboard. you are going to love Key Largo diving. warm water, easy dives
for the most part, with some challenges if you want them.

i'm sure some of the locals will jump in with good advice. Island Ventures is a good
outfit, and i would reccomend them, having gone out with them:

hiya! welcome to the scubaboard.

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to the neighbourhood. Plenty of instructors around in the SE who would be happy to give you a refresher, most that i know are a little north of you - just look around the Conch divers section and you'll see a bunch of folks there who can help get you back into diving!

Howdy and welcome to ScubaBoard.com

Yeah, I know where Homestead is, drive by it every time I go to Key Largo, the most popular dive location in North America. That's so convenient that your only down side is that you'll be tempted to never go anywhere else, but - Miami has great flights and fares to Central America and the Caribbean.

$100 sounds fine for a refresher course, jump back in. Hook up with locals with the link to our dive club given above. :)

:mostlysun Hi CiXel, I would like to welcome to SB. It must be a big difference from Los Angeles to Homestead FL. You should be able to fined places to dive and dive buddies. There are a lot of helpful people here on the board. Entertaining avatar you have.

See you around Matt. :diver:

yeah everything is WAY cheaper, much less traffic, beautiful warm ocean, coral you can see in the wild instead of just stare at in an aquarium. i wrote 2 pages of how florida would improve my life before i moved out here. i cant wait to get out there and start diving.
