Hi from Greece!

Hi to all!!
I'm george and i live at Santorini island in Greece..
I came across this site searching the net about our possible first dive during our honeymoon trip at S.Africa!!
I'll open a new thread awaitnig any help/suggestions for our first dive!!

Welcom to scubaboard my great grand father is from Santorini his son my grand father was a sponge diver in kalymnos wher my dad is from. I still have a lot of family their.

Yes i'll surely post some pictures!

Generally,santorini island has a unique morphology due to the big earthquake occured many years ago...Caldera phenomenon was a result of this earthquake..Concerning caves,i surely know that there is one among Red and White beach...I surely have to ask a dive expert in the island for more information cause as i wrote i've never dived!I only know that the deep is ver very high...many deep undersea gullies(gully) was a result of the earthquake...

Yes I know that your a new diver, I am just wondering now that the dive rules have changed, most all of greece Islands have cave systems to a degree.


Post here again for info, the diving in you area is a special one although not like carribean or red sea.

Welcome to SB! My daughter was in Greece last year (Santorini included) and she loved every minute of it and wants to go back. Happy and safe diving. Sorry I don't know anything about S. Africa diving!
