Hi everyone! I am a newbie to the underwater world. My wife and I did a little snorkeling in Hawaii last year on our honeymoon and I absolutely loved it. We are going back to Hawaii at the end of this month and we are bringing some friends with us to go Scuba Diving with. It will be my first time and I feel like a kid at Christmas! I can't wait!

Welcome to ScubaBoard and to the fun Walter. Sounds like you're starting off your diving in a nice climate and a fun place.

Who are you getting certified in Hawaii with or have you already completed your certification locally?

I am not certified and unfortunately won't be getting certified until after Hawaii. I don't have any time between now and the trip to get certified. We plan on doing one of the "introductory" dives to get a feel for it (I know I will love it but my wife is a little more hesitant). We are only going to be there for 5 days and since this is our friends first trip to Hawaii we only wanted to dive 1 day and then sightsee and relax the other days. I do plan on getting certified sometime in the next couple of months once I have some free time. Living in Los Angeles will hopefully allow me to dive here on the Pacific Coast often.
