Hello...Just introducing myself..

My name is Jae, I'm not certified yet, but plan to when I actually have the time to set aside my afternoons/nights for a week..

I have an affinity to marine fish, (I have a saltwater tank) so I started snorkeling...and I guess that's how my interest in SCUBA came to be.

oh yeah...I'm stationed in hawaii..

Hey Jae, welcome to ScubaBoard. Good luck on getting certified. And once you are certified, you'll be diving in the biggest aquarium you ever did see.
David

btw: I started out the same way, recreational snorkeling leads to scuba diving

thanks for the warm welcome guys. I'm sure I'll have ALOT of questions for you all when I start my training, and start purchasing equipment, so I'll keep posting my progress.

for now, I have a set of oceanic vortex v12's, an ocean master view3 with equilizer, and a tusa dry snorkel.

any opinions on the gear?

thanks again.

Snorkeling is a great talent to bring to scuba, as you will have already overcome the problems some newbies have with masks and mouth breathing. But still - do check out :newbie: forum...

:icecream1 I just wanted to make you feel welcome, when I joined many people introduced themselves. On Scuba Board, you will find there are many informative divers here. It’s a good place too, for meeting other divers. If you ever want to talk feel free to PM me.

Enjoy being a member and Safe Diving. From Matt.
