Old N.A.S.D.S. Cert here. Tring to find forem for us. Want to know how I can get a copy of my dive card and cert. Us old timers had to take 6 weeks of training B/4 we could get our dive card. 6 weeks. 3 hrs. Class time./ 3hrs. Pool time and/3 hrs. Of ocean dives. Every week. So you see I was heart broken when my certs. And card were lost. Any help guys & gals.? Thanx Joe

Hi, Joe.
In 1999, NASDS merged with Scuba Schools International (SSI). As of 2001, NASDS certification cards were discontinued. Therefore, in the event of a lost or damaged NASDS cert card, the NASDS diver is directed to contact SSI for a replacement SSI card. Here is a webpage that describes what constitutes proof of certification and contains contact info for SSI. Hope this helps.
If a great deal of time has elapsed since your last scuba dive, you might want to consider taking a "refresher" course with a local instructor.
From personal experience, I know that if too much time has passed since my last dive, remembering how to assemble/fix my gear gets to be more challenging than it should be.

Once you get the cert card replacement squared away, I highly recommend joining one or more dive clubs in the area, signing up for the Divebums.com email list (to get current reports on dive conditions), and checking out the Power Scuba MeetUp group.
