Hey from Louisiana

My son and I received our certification this past July. We have made 22 dives together. As “Dive Buddies” we rely on one another thus we have grown much closer. How do we get Mom to start Diving?

Hi there and welcome to ScubaBoard! Thats awesome that you and your son can dive together, my dad is my dive buddy as well. I think that Mom will start diving on her own time, I don't think that I would force her to do it, because then there is a better chance that she is going to be uncomfortable in the water, and you don't want that either. If shes interested, she will do it when shes ready! Thats what happens around here at least... we don't force anyone, but the energy just rubs off.

Welcome to the board Anchor and congratulations on the new cert for both you and your son. Isn't it great how something as cool as diving will get you closer to your kids when enjoyed together? As for motivating your wife.... maybe the overheard conversations between you and your son, plus all the comments I'm sure you are making to her will get her at least curious and on fertile ground for some serious motivation.

Heya and welcome to the Board..... One sure fire way (in my opinion) to get her to at least consider it would be to start planning a vacation geared for diving. That's how my husband hooked me , good luck and let us know!!! BTW, congrats to both of you on your recent certifications :cheering:

Glad you're enjoying diving with your son. Be careful about pushing mom though. I've seen that backfire for many people. I think it really depends on how much of an adventure seeker she is.

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically from your profile, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.
