Hey from Arizona

Hey Everyone,

My names Mike and I live in Arizona. Not the most ideal place to live to scuba, but it's warm all year round. I am not certified yet, but I am going for my PADI cert at the end if July.

This is a new obsession for me; as I was only introduced to scuba 6 months ago. I have always been wowed by the crystal clear blue water in the Caribbean, but I had never been there. This past January, my wife and I took a week long cruise to the Caribbean. We snorkeled in the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. When we got to Cozumel, we tried SNUBA. From that point forward, I never wanted to get out of the water.

As soon as I got back to Arizona, I couldn't stop talking about getting SCUBA certified. So this past April, my wife surprised me with SCUBA PADI certification classes for our anniversary. I am extremely excited to do this. I just picked up my mask, fins, boots, snorkel, and some other small accessories.

I hope to pick up at least a reg and computer soon, and maybe a BC but I am still trying to figure out which to buy.

Hi, Mike....

Im in AZ too (in Tucson). I will be doing my pool and Open Water PADI Certs this month as well. I have snorkeled pretty much around the world (Phuket, Thailand was the best place) and figures Scuba was the next logical step. Where do you live? What shop you going thru?

I was just in Tucson a couple of hours ago!! haha.... I live up in Maricopa, but my business takes me all over the state. I am in Tucson at least once a week, but my main office is in Phoenix. I am doing my cert through Scuba Magic in Tempe.

Where are you doing yours?

Hey Doc,

I am going through Scuba Magic for my PADI cert. Got to love the wife and Groupon! So I didn't have much of a choice. They look solid from what I have read and heard.

Just picked up my PADI OW textbook. Missed the August 6th class so my first cert class will be September 3rd! Can't wait!!!!

How did it go? I am currently reading through my OW manual.
