Well, I jsut got Open Water Qualed a couple weeks ago here in Hawaii and loved it. I immediately went out and bought my own gear. So far I have a knighthawk BCD w/Air2, Mark 11/395 reg, and an Oceanic Atom 2.0 computer, Tusa fins, Aqua lung snorkel and Mares Wanted mask. I have had many hobbies before and I am in love with this one. So far since getting qualed I have only been up to the north shore to do shore dives at three tables and shark's cove but looking to hopefully go else where for shore dives as the north shore is about to become inaccessable due to winter surf. I am going to be doing my advanced course beggining of October.

Welcome to the board. It would appear you are in a good place to get in some great diving.

Again welcome.

Welcome- HI is great; I have done most my diving there while on vacation. Wish we had some of that tropic water here in Idaho- good luck with the scuba adventures--

welcome aboard

I've done some beach diving in Oahu myself, besides with a few dives with dive boats. I hit every LDS and asked about beach dives and every diver I talked to that was local. I was given a few really cool spots to dive.

North Shore? The North Shore? Man, does it ever stop hammering there? The signs saying you can and will die here kinda said all I wanted to know lol. We were told look but don't touch ... unless we knew the ins and outs of diving there. I didn't know there even was a slack time ... cool!

Ohh ... Certified, certified is the word!
