This is a personal favorite of mine :boom:
So why do they wear so much weight? Is it general lack of skills/comfort in the water, poor training, poor fitness, or what???

A Typical SCUBABoard Weighting Discussion:

You are definately using WAY too much weight....I weigh 145 lbs and when I wear my LP120 doubles and a 2 mm wetsuit with a 9 lb SS backplate in Lake Ontario, I don't wear anyting on my belt. So your 230 lbs with a 7mm 2 piece, single aluminum tank, and a jacket BC in the ocean couldn't possibly need 20 lbs of weight on your belt.

If you mean that it makes me physically ill as in a rocking boat, yes, you're right :D ;) :D ;)
Please enlighten us...

What I read here and elsewhere just only about makes sense (barely).

Who decides what I do is totally inappropriate?

Or what I wear (no wings, no weight integrated, no bungee) is totally nonsense?

I might (just about) understand some of it, the rest is simply a show off.

As everyone knows, The quality of current dive instructors is terrible, so in an attempt to capitalize on this market opening, Home Experience Leisure Products is launching it’s very own open water certification by correspondence.

I’m going to be rich!

So can you, I am currently seeking investors for this once in a life time opportunity to become filthy rich – and you thought PADI pros made money!

No one learns better than by their own mistakes and at their own pace. Our OW certification program is a self teach program, I’ll send you the course material, suggested local pool times and loaner gear for a very reasonable cost and you progress on your own, at the pace you feel comfortable with. No need to worry about a pass or fail, we guaranty 100% success – our material is so refined and simplified that everyone that follows or program will become a certified open water diver! Upon completion of the course material (including the self check exam) and after having made a few dives on your own, just bring your hard earned OW card (included with your course material) to your local print shop along with a personal photo for lamination. When you show up at most any dive resort, simply present your OW card from my internationally recognized training agency: H.E.L.P, for stress free access to the worlds best dive sites.

I’m looking for investors.

Hey Genesis, do you want to help put the last nail in the LDS coffin and invest in the way of the future?

Almost everyone is wearing entirely too much weight. If you are using more than 15lbs you have too much.

You try getting below the surface with that in a 5+7 mil wetsuit, thick boots and gloves...I´ll just add that the wetsuit has those towelly frilly things as well...

Those of us who, by nature and circumstance, are mostly relegated to cold waters (sometimes with bits of ice floating in or covering the surface of the water do need warm stuff to keep us in the game...

Not really arguing your point though as I only used 12lbs in the red sea in august...but weight does vary with sircumstance...

Sorry to dissapoint those expecting a :boom: BTW
:mean:
