Fantasy Island is sold out, so now I am desparately scrambling to find another spot to go to.

Does anyone have any experience at this resort?

I am specifically looking for unlimited shore dives for my wife who is a newly certified diver. I had planned on getting the 2 boat dives for 5 days at Fantasy Island, but as menttioned above, they are sold out and the wife can't change her holidays.

So, is Henry Morgan any good when it comes to shore dives? And how the prices for diving?

I can't seem to find a website for them...

Thanks.

Henry Morgan is like the Itlian Club Med - it's a nice place but they have a charter from Italy that perty much is their main client base - The other guests will not like you - You will not be treated well buy your peers..............

Now if you can put up with being a social out cast - it is a very lovely place right on the beach in West Bay - They just got a brand new dive boat and it's really nice....

Check into some of the other AI's like Bay Island Beach Resort / AKR / or you might even think about staying with us......

If you check my other post I never say anything negative about any of the other resorts - The point is Henry Morgan has the Itilian thing locked and the Itlian folks don't want your American *** around to spoil thier party...... I really don't think that's being negative just giving you the facts.......................

A Canadian operator, Conquest, just started offering packages to Henry Morgan this year. Price is pretty cheap - about $1000 for a week including air from Toronto.
Diving is extra. People seem to like it, see tripadvisor.com for the latest reports.
May be good if you're travelling with a non-diver...and don't mind a bunch of italians around :)

I have nothing against Itlians or Italy or any racial or ethnic group.... I'm just trying to let you know about the cultrue of this patacualar place. I do go there from time to time.

It is probably the nicest of all the AI's on the island nice pool most beautiful beach by far.

The GUESTS there just aren't going to be nice to you.....

If they do start getting an infllux of Canandians or Americans the culture might change
in a couple of years - I'm just not sure you want to be the in vangaurd of the transition.

You could consider Reef House Resort, if you don't mind being away from West End apres-dive activities. Their shore dive / house reef site was great night or day when we stayed with them in April 2005.

Boat diving was great too BTW.

You have well described this very odd situation. In other countries, I have been thrown into a melange of nationalities- and when that total mix-up occurs, everyone can seem to find a common ground... comraderie ensues. When you insert one "outsider", it can be difficult. I have met some very friendly Italians. :crafty:

I spent two weeks diving in the Maldives on a huge Japaneese liveaboard. That was pretty well like a walk on the darkside of the Moon, but they enjoyed us once we put on home made cardboard cowboy hats and yelled yee-haw for them after dinner. We had no other option at that desperate point. After that they weren't scared to look at us.

The best thing about Italians is that their neices often sunbathe topless. :eyebrow:

Have you tried Cocoview? They are right across from FI and they have the best unlimited shore diving!! If you search the posts you will find lots and lots of reviews and trip reports..

I e-mailed Cocoview to check their rates and availability, but they never replied.

I just found out the charter flight out of Toronto will end in 3 weeks. So, it's either find something for the next three weeks or wait til next season...

Still looking....

I think that they want you to call their US Reservations office at 800 282-8932, you emailed the resort and all they know is that it's time to dive.
